If you are coming in from the North you will be taking in the town of Bala, renowned for watersports on the A494 or the Southern fringes of Snowdonia via the A470. The nearest railways are Machynlleth and Barmouth both stations linked to a bus service.

Beaches within 10 mile radius: Barmouth – Spectacular scenery along the route from Dolgellau to Barmouth Sandy beach with plenty of amenities for the whole family. Fairbourne – Sandy beach with mountain backdrop.

Steam railway which links up to a ferry service into Barmouth. Steam Railways; Ffestiniog, Snowdon, Talyllyn, Corris, Bala Lake etc, and also the Welsh Highland Railway. Many walks – including the famous Precipice Walk high above the Mawddach estuary, The Mawddach trail which is flat and well surfaced ideal for walkers, cyclists and wheelchairs along the waterside for approx 9 miles to Barmouth, Coed y Brenin mountain bike centre with trails to suit abilities .
